Abundance indices, distribution patterns and faunal assemblages of demersal species in the northern coast of Spain (Atlantic Galician shelf and Cantabrian sea shelf), together with the possible driving factors of their distribution. This survey belongs to the research project: 'Evaluacion de Recursos Demersales por Métodos Directos en el área ICES'. This Project is partly funded by the DCR of the EU and the Education and Science Spanish Ministery.The main objectives of the above mentioned project related with this survey time series are: a) to obtain abundance indices of the main exploited species in the study area; b) to estimate the strength of yearly recruitments of these species and their distribution in the area. c) to study the structure and distribution o the demersal and benthic communities in the area.

Este conjunto de datos contiene información sobre los Espacios Naturales Protegidos (ENP) en España como resultado de la recopilación de aquellos espacios declarados conforme a la normativa nacional y autonómica. La Ley 42/2007, de 14 de diciembre de 2007 prevé cinco figuras de protección (Parques, Reservas Naturales, Áreas Marinas Protegidas, Monumentos Naturales, Paisajes Protegidos); la legislación autonómica relativa a la conservación de la naturaleza incrementa las denominaciones elevando a más de 45 las figuras de protección que podemos encontrar. La información se complementa con la base de datos Common Database on Designated Areas (CDDA) de la Agencia Europea de Medio Ambiente. Producto de las declaraciones y eventualmente, reclasificaciones o modificaciones en los límites, denominación o tipo de protección, se ha determinado que se realice una revisión con periodicidad anual.
